If you’re looking at the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe, you’re going to see a new turbocharged hybrid powertrain and a new top-level trim being offered. You won’t find many upgrades to the exterior of this SUV, but you will find an interior package that offers you more of what you want and a more efficient powertrain to give you the new driving feeling you’re looking for.
The Front of the Santa Fe Does Have Some Upgrades
The grille area of the Hyundai Santa Fe brings you a chrome strip moving from the top to the bottom of the grille, fog lights that now blend into the grille corners, and a star-like wheel design. The look of this near area of the Santa Fe resembles some of the other models in the Hyundai lineup including the Tucson and Veloster N, giving you a sportier look.
New Engines Offered in the Hyundai Santa Fe
While the hybrid engine is brand new, all engines for the Santa Fe are new in some way. The standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder model that makes 191 horsepower and 182 lb.-ft. of torque while being attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Next, you’ll see a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that makes 277 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque.
The hybrid powertrain is the most efficient of the trio and it’s a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid engine that mates with a 44-kW electric motor. You’ll have a six-speed automatic transmission with this engine and enjoy 225 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. We may see a plug-in hybrid version of this powertrain being offered later in the year or the following year to give us a model that has some distance of electric-only driving when out on the road.
A New Interior Package for this SUV
The Hyundai Santa Fe no longer has a traditional shifter and has a center console instead. Shifting is done by using a push-button system. The space left behind is also used for the buttons needed for the climate controls, infotainment, and selectable drive modes. The base infotainment screen is an eight-inch model while the higher versions of this SUV have a 10.25-inch screen to give you the look you want. In front of you, you’ll see a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
Check Out the new Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy

Lower trims gain wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while also giving you a new wireless charger and voice command functionality to make things easier for you.
