2017 saw some notable highlights from carmakers like, Honda, Dodge, Tesla, Mercedes Benz, and more. We’ll look at some of the best 2017 models that were made.
We’ve seen a lot of changes over the past year when it comes to what is acceptable for a car and what isn’t. It’s always a lot of fun to look back and smile at what we found to be the best models that made their way to the market over the past year. Even with the changes that some governments are making that will make performance cars more difficult to sell, we see performance making this list in a big way to keep us smiling from behind the wheel.
Dodge Challenger Demon – As the latest Challenger to make its way to the market, the Demon is a car that shows us that you can have all the power you want at a price that won’t break your bank. This amazing car has 840 horsepower and the ability to reach the quarter-mile mark in less than ten seconds to make it one screaming beast that others should certainly fear.
Hyundai i30N – Even though this little car isn’t going to be sold in North America, it marks the beginning of the performance sub-brand from Hyundai to allow us to see the qualities and the performance aspects we will love to enjoy when we do see this name brought to the market in the new Veloster N. The start of something new is certainly admired in this little car.
Range Rover Velar – This SUV is one that shows the Land Rover team can build a gorgeous vehicle and give us a drive that we want and the qualities we’ve been looking for. This impressive vehicle also makes use of the supercharged V6 engine that is more than capable of getting the job done on and off the road to let you have the fun you want.
Subaru Ascent – As the three-row SUV from Subaru that finally gives us a replacement for the model we’ve missed for years, we have an affordable and comfortable vehicle that can handle everything we need on the road. The versatility and capability of this Subaru is one that you’re sure to love and has been one of the best new offerings of this past year.
Tesla Roadster – You know Tesla is almost always going to have something new for us to admire and enjoy and the new Roadster strikes a pose that we have to step back and admire. This car can take your breath away and if it happens to be capable of the speeds and times that Tesla claims, it’s going to set some serious records as it makes it way to the market.
Mercedes-AMG Project One – While not part of the market yet, this is a new hybrid hypercar that allows us to have the power of a Formula One car while heading out on the road, as long as you have $2.5 million to pay for a supercar. The numbers will amaze you with 1,000 horsepower and the ability to reach up and show you a top speed of 217 mph.
Honda Civic Type R – This is easily the Honda that we’ve admired more than any other in 2017 because it is a hot hatch that we can all afford and it finally made its way to North America as the first Honda Civic Type R we’ve ever had. The performance numbers and qualities certainly make this the Honda you want to drive and allow us to look at this car with a huge smile.
Genesis G70 – Debuting at various shows around the world, the new G70 will become the third model that will be offered in the Genesis lineup. As the compact luxury sedan that will be offered by this brand, you’ll be able to choose the same engines we see in the new Kia Stinger and have the smooth luxury features that have become part of what Genesis offers.
Jeep Wrangler JL – We discussed the new look of the Jeep Wrangler JL so much that many people have gotten Wrangler fatigue and are tired of hearing about it. Even so, this is certainly one of the most admired vehicles to debut during 2017 and now it gives us three different engines to choose from and an interior that’s much more comfortable than in the past.
Kia Stinger – Here is a sports car that has the driving performance and the qualities you’ll want when you’re looking for a no-nonsense sports sedan. This car is exciting, fun, impressive, and built to drive the way you want to drive on the roads in your area. This has to be the car that showed up in 2017 that we loved the most so far, and it is a performance model.
