Car Stories: 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

There are certain vehicles that instantly come to mind when you think sporty compact SUV. One that might not come to mind is the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. We’re hoping to correct that mistake now because this vehicle should definitely come to mind.

Rather than go through specs and discuss the differences between the Outlander Sport and its competitors, we’re going to appeal to logic. Mitsubishi has been mired in the trenches as being the forgotten Asian import in the United States. Much of this was due to poor marketing practices and an unwillingness to commit to the US market. Sales steadily fell over the last decade and some doubted whether Mitsubishi would survive.

Fast forward to today and the company is making a comeback. In fact, the company reported its best sales in seven years last month and a continuation of their 12-month year-over-year increase. The company isn’t just riding the economic upswing. They’re gaining ground on the competition, including their Japanese counterparts.

All of this brings us back to the Outlander Sport. Dealerships have them. Lots of them. This bodes well for the company that is putting a good portion of its efforts into taking a bigger chunk of the lucrative SUV/Crossover pie. They’re investing. They’re innovating. Car shoppers who are looking for something that’s not the run-of-the-mill ride while having the right styling and performance should take off their blinders and look at this vehicle.

It looks great. It rides great. Mitsubishi and their Outlander Sport are making an impact.
