The next version of the Hyundai Sonata will be part of the 2020 model year and it will give us the look we want and the drive that makes a lot of sense for you on the road. This car was recently revealed with a radical new look to make it the midsize sedan that has the style and the elegance we’re looking for when we drive. This new version of the Sonata takes inspiration from the Le Fil Rogue Concept to give us the car that will help carry the midsize sedan segment forward for the future.
A Design Philosophy We Can All Admire
The style that is being used for the new Sonata is being called Sensual Sportiness and it brings us an appearance that offers curves and lines where they should be. This new Sonata will feature short overhangs, a rear sloping roofline, and a lower rear deck lid. The car sits lower than the outgoing generation model, while also being wider and longer than the previous model. This car offers you a wide stance that’s shown by the wide rear LED taillights that span the width of the rear of this impressive sedan. The cascading grill up front also adds to the look of width and girth of this amazing car.
A Dramatic Change to the Sonata
One of the most dramatic aspects of the new Hyundai Sonata is the appearance of the new daytime running lights. The front lights seamlessly blend into a metal trim piece that extends down the side of the car to move up and frame the side windows. This aspect is called the Hidden Lighting Lamps and the effect allows the DRLs to look as if they are made of chrome when they aren’t being used while being more dramatic when they are turned on.
Looking Inside the 2020 Hyundai Sonata
The interior of the new Hyundai Sonata has been completely redesigned to give you a horizontal dashboard that looks light and sleek. The goal of the design team was to take away the intrusion of a large screen in the middle of the dashboard and this team installed two smaller screens to give you the qualities you want without the intrusive look of a massive screen in the middle. The new shift-by-wire transmission also makes it possible for more cargo space to be available where it wouldn’t have been in the past.
