Although we don’t typically think of the Toyota Camry sedan as a model that can be fast and get to the speed desired quickly, the new model of the Camry is better than what we’ve seen in the past. In fact, the new Camry can be considered to be the best Camry offered yet. This car is one that can be had with the most powerful engine under the hood that we’ve ever seen in this four-door midsize sedan. That engine is a 3.5-liter V6 that pumps out 301 horsepower for the drive you want to enjoy on the road.
Here are a few cars this Camry Sedan could beat in a drag race:
Ford Focus ST –The Focus ST is certainly an impressive model and one of the hot hatches that makes fun driving easy for us to experience. This car has been listed as having the ability to reach sixty mph in 6.2 seconds and reach the end of the quarter-mile in fifteen seconds. The Camry can make this run in less than six seconds, making it faster and the car you want when ripping off form a traffic light is one of the priorities you nave when you drive.
Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 –Was it intentional that Toyota created a midsize sedan that’s faster off the line than their own small sports coupe? If not, it has happened and we see this pair of sports cars reaching the sixty mph mark nearly a half a second after the Camry XSE crosses the line. It’s amazing that the Camry has the ability to be a family sedan and carry everything you need with you while racing to the line faster than these two models that are lightweight and built to offer you the fun you’re looking for on the road.
Nissan Maxima –In this list, this is the only one of the vehicles offered that had a chance against the Camry and it came in as a tie with the V6 powered Camry when out on the track. The Maxima has been a four-door sports car that we’ve admired for many years for the features included and the active driving we can enjoy. This Nissan team might want to improve the Maxima before word gets out that the Camry is just as fast as the Maxima when put on the track for a sprint to sixty mph.
Honda Prelude SH –Looking back into the annals of automotive history, the Prelude was a thrilling and fun to drive sports car that has been one of the most impressive we’ve seen and enjoyed. This car was able to reach sixty mph in nearly seven seconds and reach the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds which was seriously fast for the time it was here, but even this car isn’t fast enough to beat the new Camry XSE when it’s taken out on the track to show off what it can do and how it can perform for the drive desired.
1999 BMW M3 Convertible –This is a car that was looked at as the Ultimate Driving machine and one of the truly special sports cars offered at the time it was built. This car was one of the quickest cars offered at the time, but if you see one next to your Camry XSE when you pull up to a traffic light, you’re going to be able to beat this car to sixty mph with a time that’s nearly a second faster to this speed and at least a half-second faster in the quarter-mile run that you’ll experience out on the track.
Mazda RX-8 –There’s no way a Toyota Camry is faster than this Mazda sports car. This car was built to be a dominator on the track, but somehow its slower by about a half-second than the Camry when it comes to reaching sixty mph and slower by the same amount of time when working its way toward the quarter-mile time. It’s amazing to think about, but this new Toyota Camry XSE with the V6 engine is an incredible car that can reach a quickness that you’ve not seen in a sedan in a long time and could be the right car for you to drive.
