Unless you’re an avid Fiat follower you might not realize the Fiat 500 is celebrating its 60th anniversary. This little car has been one we’ve loved to drive for its small and simple good looks and it’s easy to enjoy driving manners. Now that this model has reached the completion of six decades on the road, the brand has decided to celebrate this awesome occasion with a new car called the 500 Sessantesimo and it will be a special model that we can enjoy and discuss.
The Fiat 500 Sessantesimo (which is Italian for sixtieth) will be built in only 560 units. To keep things fun and simple at the same time, this car will only be offered in the convertible cabriolet form. The paint of each of these cars will be the same as well. The car will wear a two-tone ‘Dolcevita’ paint work that is impressive in its own right. The bottom will be painted in a three-layer white paint and the upper part of the car will wear a pastel Ivory paint. These two sections will be separated by a gray and burgundy pinstripe.
Other items that make this car look special will be the ‘560’ badge that will appear on the B-pillar of the car and the 16-inch alloy wheels this car will ride on. While a small car, this is certainly an attractive way to enjoy the celebration of a tiny car that has been perusing the streets of Europe for many years and has been part of what we love to enjoy on the roads in the US as well. This is easily one of the most fantastic celebrations of a small car that I’ve seen.
Inside the materials look impressive and higher class than most of the 500 models. The leather is the color of ivory to match the paint while the piping is burgundy to give you a gorgeous offset. There is a burgundy dashboard with an ivory steering wheel to provide more offsetting colors and the 500 badge on the dash is large and impressive. Each one of these models of this anniversary edition will receive a commemorative plaque along with an impressive array of features such as the Uconnect system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Beats audio system, bi-xenon headlights and much more.
Under the hood you’ll enjoy the engines offered will be the familiar lineup from Fiat with two gasoline engines and one diesel. This car went on sale in Europe and Asia on March 9th but the deliveries won’t begin until July 4th. While this is a small car that’s celebrating its anniversary, you can expect it to sell out quickly in the markets that’s its available in. If you’re looking to get your hands on one of these little cars to celebrate along with Fiat and add this to your collection, you need to check out the Fiat website or contact a Fiat dealer near you.
