2017 Chevrolet Colorado: Adding More to the Lineup

We’re only a couple years removed from the Chevrolet Colorado coming back to the lineup and becoming the midsized truck we want to enjoy. Last year we were graced with a new diesel powertrain that came in giving us a more powerful version of the truck and now we have a couple new models to add to the mix as well. One is a new version that brings a new V6 engine with a new transmission and the other is a new ZR2 model that offers the off road gear you might want to have on your truck.

Looking at the new ZR2 you’ll see this is a truck that makes it easy to enjoy Baja style driving that will make a difference for you. If you’re in need of a truck that offers you the strength you want and the equipment that will make a difference for you, this is one that gives you what you need. You’ll love the ZR2 and its off road capabilities along with the fact that you can enjoy the benefit of good fuel mileage in this truck that’s made for the weekend warrior that you want to be.

Why would you buy a midsized truck? These trucks offer you more versatility than larger models. You’ll not only enjoy the benefits of a smaller build that can be parked wherever you want but also enjoy the improved fuel mileage offered by these trucks. While enjoy the smaller size and better fuel mileage you’ll also be able to enjoy the benefit of a truck that’s built to haul what you need and provide you with the ride you’re looking for to get the job done or head out in the wilderness as a great off road vehicle.

Right now you can choose from three different powertrains to give you the power you want and the ride you’re looking for. The base powertrain is the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that brings you 200 horsepower and 191 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine can be used with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission to give you the shifting you want. These are the transmissions used for the 2.8-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine as well that gives you 181 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. Both of these versions of the truck can be had with either 2WD or 4WD to give you the ride you want.

The new powertrain added to the Colorado lineup is the 3.6-liter V6 engine which brings in 308 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission which is important because this is the only eight-speed on the midsized pickup truck market. The fuel mileage range for these three engines comes in at a low of 17 city/24 hwy mpg and a high of 22 city/30 hwy mpg. This truck can tow as much as 7,700 pounds when the diesel engine is under the hood to give it the towing power you want to enjoy on the road.

The Colorado comes with some impressive features although the base model is one that has only a few items for you to enjoy. These include the CornerStep rear bumper, locking tailgate, cargo box lighting, air conditioning and 4.2-inch touchscreen audio system with a USB port and power windows. The LT upgrades what you have to an eight-inch touchscreen that includes the benefit of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while also bringing in the multicolor display between the gauges along with some upgraded wheels and interior trim to make this a truck that you’ll be extremely comfortable driving.

Is the 2017 version of the Chevrolet Colorado the right truck for you?
