If you have followed the discussion regarding the CT6 you know this car wasn’t supposed to be the flagship model for Cadillac, but as it turns out it will be for at least a few years. Thankfully the CT6 seems to be up for the task and can carry the torch until we see what Cadillac comes up with as a new flagship model. As a newcomer to the market for 2016 this car is a large luxury sedan that is ready to take on the top players in the market and show them where their shortcomings are. If you are looking for the best Cadillac you have seen in years, look no farther than the CT6.
The CT6 carries forward with the Art and Science design theme that offers the comfort, space, features and ride quality you look for in the Cadillac name. This car has a long wheelbase but also offers the ride quality of a sporty car to give you the best drive you could ever imagine on any road. While the competition may boast about their various wheelbase lengths this is a car that will give you everything you want with only the one length that offers the comfort of plentiful legroom.
This is a car you have to enjoy driving. It may seem too large for some to drive, but once you step inside you will see this car an easy and enjoyable drive, doing most of the work for you. The CT6 is a great example of the Cadillac vision to create their large and luxurious vehicles with a lower weight and a more dynamic ride ability than nearly every other automaker. The CT6 is only seventeen pounds heavier than the CTS which is much smaller and with the awesome suspension and steering system you won’t feel as if the CT6 is a difficult drive, but one that easily gives you the confidence you want to drive anywhere you choose.
When you choose the CT6 you get to pick between three different engines. All three use an eight-speed automatic transmission that is fitted with paddle shifters to give a smooth feeling. The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that offers up 265 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is only offered in RWD but with this installed the car is nearly 400 pounds lighter than it is with the other engines. This powertrain will give you a fuel mileage of 22 city/31 hwy mpg.
The next engine offered is a 3.6-liter V6 that brings in some good power with 335 horsepower and 284 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine and the next one are only offered with AWD setups and this one will give you the fuel numbers of 19 city/28 hwy mpg. At the top of the power lineup you can enjoy a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that pushes 404 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. This powertrain will give you fuel numbers of 18 city/26 hwy mpg but give you plenty of strength in this great car. All three engines need premium fuel to operate efficiently.
No matter what trim level you choose the CT6 offers you a car that is full of excellent features including fine leather, real wood and carbon fiber accents. You will be amazed by the infotainment system that starts out at eight inches and can be upgraded to a massive twelve inch unit in the higher trims. There is 40.4 inches of leg room in the rear seat for your back seat passengers to be comfortable and enjoy the ride in style.
Speaking of style, there are very few cars on the market today that look as sophisticated and as elegant as the CT6. This is a ca that shows off the Cadillac design language to give you a look and feel of the best in its class. With a front fascia that features a gorgeous grill and LED headlights that have Led blades on the outside the look is dynamic and gorgeous for you to enjoy. In the back this Led lighting is completed in the taillights. To finish off the attractive qualities of this car you will love the alloy wheels that range from eighteen to twenty inches in size to give you the ride you want to experience.
When it comes to features Cadillac has never been one to leave anything out, even on the base models. The CT6 2.0 Turbo (aka base model) offers leather upholstery, wood trim, extended comfort fourteen-way power front seats, the CUE infotainment system, a Bose audio system, active noise cancellation technology and the OnStar with the 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Luxury/Premium Luxury models add an improved leather for the seats, Surround Sound, a wide-angle rear camera mirror, concierge lighting and a hands-free power trunk. Moving up to the Platinum model the standard features bring in the Bose Panaray stereo, night vision, digital instrumentation with a head up display, quad-zone climate controls, the Active Chassis with four-wheel steering, the surround view voice recording system, articulated rear seats, dual screen entertainment system and active/passive driver assistance features.
With so much that comes standard on each trim you would think there couldn’t be any optional features, but there are several. The base model can be upgraded with the different engines and the safety features as well as a navigation system, and a panoramic sunroof. The Luxury/Premium Luxury model can add the Bose Panaray audio system, the Enhanced Vision and Comfort Package which adds the rear camera mirror, the panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, the Rear Seat Package which adds the full articulated rear seats with massaging function and the 10.3-inch video screens, and the Active Chassis Package. the Premium Luxury can add the Driver Assistance with night vision which adds the adaptive cruise control, front and rear auto braking and infrared night vision to the host of items enjoyed on this beautiful car.
When you take a look at the CT6 you might expect it to start out at a much higher price, but at just a little under $54,500 you will be able to enjoy the base model. Adding a V6 engine will cost an additional $2,000 and the Luxury trim will increase the price by $3,000. The Premium Luxury will reach into the mid-$60,000 price while the top model that comes fully equipped will cost nearly $90,000 to have everything that can come on the CT6. This is the right luxury car for you to drive and enjoy while showing off to your friends and neighbors who have chosen competing models that are either much more expensive or less-equipped; you don’t want that to happen to you; which means you need to get to your Cadillac dealer today and get the CT6 that’s right for you.
