General Motors, a long time innovator of quality cars, trucks, and SUV’s brought the Spark to market back in 2012. The 2016 Spark Hatchback has been confirmed to be revealed both in New York and Seoul on April 2, 2015. With a sleeker and more aerodynamic body, the 2016 Spark is a more “grown up” version of the previous models. General Motors has kept some of it’s youthful and eccentric features, but modified it to appeal to an older audience.
It is still yet to be determined as to what features will be available on the redesigned 2016 Spark, but some speculate that it may borrow some of the features from the next generation Chevrolet Volt. A Cruze inspired front facia sets the Spark apart from the Opel Karl, which will be the platform in which the Spark will share. L-shaped headlamps and a split front grille are just a couple of features you can expect on the 2016 Spark.
A 1.2 liter gas I4 engine installed that will allow the 2016 Spark to achieve an estimated MPG of around 31. It will be front wheel drive and have room for up to four passengers. It will come standard with a five speed transmission, with available automatic transmission. Estimated MSRP for the 2016 Spark is between $12,500 and $17,000. It will come equipped with the BringGo Navigation System, which is app based.
Since the release of the Spark, which was originally debuted as the Beat in India, General Motors has sold more than 1.1 million vehicles globally. Spark sales have risen 32% in the first few months of 2015, which is a good indication that the 2016 model year for the Spark will be just as successful, if not more for General Motors. With upgraded tech features that consumers want, it was built to appeal to a wider audience, which could result in. more sales of the Spark for GM.
