car
For a vast majority of the world owning a car means transportation and a way to get from one place to another. Because so many of us working stiffs have a long commute to and from work, even by car it very important to have a vehicle that is reliable and ready to take us wherever we need to go. So many no longer live in the inner parts of cities where places were accessible by walking or riding on public transportation and must have a car to get around. For some of us fortunate souls, we have at least one car per driver in our families, ensuring each licensed member of the family can enjoy their own transportation.
For a very select few, vehicles are not so much transportation but items to be collected and seriously pampers in their own climate controlled garage. These few of us have the means to purchase just about any vehicle they desire on a regular basis and need to pay close attention to the wide variety of high end automobiles that are offered for sale on a regular basis. This brings in the DuPont Registry and its list of Top 10 Cars to Buy This Week, which is released each week. This list shows highly collectible and fascinating cars, trucks, and SUVs that are ready to purchase for those who have the money to buy what they want with the extensive wealth they have amassed over their lifetimes.
Just to get your whistle wet this list begins with a 2014 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 which shows an asking price of a meager $489,888. Seeing this bull driving down the road in its lime green color will surely turn almost any head along its path, especially if it’s showing off the performance it has to offer.
Next on the list is a classic looking 2002 BMW Z8 that is being offered for a drop in the bucket of $189,995. This short two-seater coupe looks fast and offers a body style that resembles the sports cars of the 1970’s more than a car that was only built thirteen years ago, this will make an instant classic for any collection.
The third offering is a racing ready and suitably painted in red with white racing stripes 2009 Dodge Viper 2 door Coupe SRT10 ACR. A serious bargain at $138,888, and showing off with looks that are meant more for the track than the blacktop this snake is ready to strike.
Next up is a 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG that looks a bit plain compared to others on this list, but for the more subdued of you shoppers out there this car can be yours for a simple transaction of $149,900. With the wing style doors this highly attractive and offers an envious ride for the owner.
With performance and precision abound on this next model the 2011 Audi R8 shows up asking for $172,000 which is a mere pittance for such a beautiful convertible. With outstanding performance under the hood I only wish a better color than gunmetal gray had been chosen for this beauty.
As one of the only new models on this list, the 2015 Porsche Panamera Turbo S asks for a few coins at the $168,500 price. Similar to the Audi in performance, actually this beauty outperforms it, this Porsche shows off with dramatic high gloss paint to make a major statement on the road.
The next up is a very interesting choice and might be perfect in ski resort areas that require a vehicle that appears to have tank tracks instead of wheels. This is the 1995 Hummer H1 Super Charged Diesel which is a super bargain at $150,000. As an instant classic this Hummer needs to be snatched up quick.
At a minimal price of $150,000 you could be the proud owner of a 1971 Nissan GT-R Skyline “Hakosuka”. With the 1970’s looks from Nissan and only a few sporty exterior stylings this silver bullet could be the best kept secret in your garage.
Up next is another performance monster in the form of a 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition that will open the wallet up a little more at $495,000, but most of these buyers of these cars are carrying that one them aren’t they? This beast shows up in a power blue finish with racing numbers on it and burnt orange front and center stripe giving it the allure of a car that may have seen some serious track time.
A power player in the SUV community takes the stand as our next entry in the form of a 2005 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG Supercharged. This beauty asks for only a small amount at $150,000 and shows off a vehicle that had LED lighting before it was a standard offering by the manufacturer.
Finally a car that looks like it skipped a few decades when you discuss this car is a 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 CRC Conversion which is the cheapest on our list at a serious discount of $104,950. This beautiful Corvette appears to be confused about what year it should be with some 1960’s and 1970’s style elements, but the inner working are all much more updated than the overall look of the body.
With that kind of a list to choose from for the ultra-wealthy it might be difficult to choose which car will be the next family member to find its way into the garage. I guess for some of those who can actually shop on this list it might be feel like a two for the price of one sale when they pay close to $150,000 for a couple of these great machines to put in their garage, especially if they had intended to spend over $300,000 for one. For the rest of us who still think of our cars as transportation we can hope and dream to one day be able to shop for cars on a list like this and actually have the money to afford such a beauty.
